My Thoughtful Experience can help create a Vibrant Saanich

A vibrant Saanich now and in the future requires a thoughtful, experienced leader. I will help create strong neighbourhoods which begins with a local government that works for everyone. I am committed to make municipal services more accessible, supporting residents at every stage of life and creating neighbourhoods where people can thrive and connect with others. That means long term planning to ensure our investments in our infrastructure are resilient for the future and Climate Change impacts. Plus, ensure we are delivering services we need, all while letting residents have a meaningful voice in local decisions.

Residents expect their tax dollars to be managed carefully. I believe in responsible budgeting and long-term financial planning. Having owned and operated two businesses in this region, I understand what it takes to manage budgets effectively, even during challenging times.

Every Saanich investment should be measured by its benefit to residents today while protecting future generations from unnecessary surprises like a broken water main which they experienced in Calgary.

I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the job, and I make sure that I am well informed about the challenges we face. When we plan for the future of Saanich together, we can create a community for the next generation that is resilient and provides greater opportunities for all!

My Inspiration…

This is my only grandchild, and he is my greatest inspiration.

Every time we FaceTime, he tells me about going to the park or riding his scooter on the trail. Our conversations remind me why local government matters. The decisions we make and the services we provide today help shape the community that the next generation will inherit.

We all share a responsibility to create Saanich as a community for all — one that is affordable, accessible, healthy, and sustainable — not just for ourselves, but for those who come after us.

The choices we make today will have an impact for generations. That's why I believe we must always keep the future in mind and do everything we can to leave the next generation with opportunities, a stronger Saanich, and an even better place to call home.

Experienced Leadership Matters

I bring a wealth of experience in many areas which has been effective, in communicating and bringing people together, and I know how to get things done.

I have lived in Saanich since 1987, raised my family, owned and operated two businesses, and taught adult programs for legal secretaries at Camosun College. This is the community I chose to call my home and I work very hard to make it a better home for everyone.

I have served our community diligently and thoughtfully in many roles on Council, as a Director of the CRD and in other appointments at the Provincial and Community levels (see below):
